For its third conference-workshop to be held in Oviedo, Spain, between 2nd and 4th October 2017, the project Women’s Creativity since the Modern Movement - MoMoWo presents papers addressing themes and subjects on the activities and lives of women designers, architects and civil engineers between 1969 and 1989. The conference-workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss the professional experiences of European women active within various fields of design. The workshop is addressed to both, scholars and students.

In 1996 she graduated in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture at University of Oporto (FAUP - Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto) and her education also passed through the Technische Universiteit Delft, Faculteit der Bouwkunde, Netherlands, between 1995 and 1996.
Founder, author and coordinator of a.s* - atelier de santos, arquitectura (santos studio, architecture), since September 1997.
Her work is settled in the area of creation and development of architectural projects, whereby recognition is obtained nationally and internationally through exhibitions, publications or several prizes.
With a.s* - atelier de santos - we highlight the University Residences of Laranjeiras (awarded with the FAD 2007 Special Members Prize, Barcelona), the Ribeira Grande Museum and the Central Library of the University of Açores, nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies Van Der Rohe and for the FAD Awards, both in 2004; recently the requalification work in the “Luís de Freitas Branco” Secondary School in Paço D'Arcos, was nominated for the International UE Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies Van Der Rohe Award 2017, Architizer2017, and it was awarded with the AICA (International Art Critics Association) 2016 Award in Architecture.
Her work has been the subject of conferences, publications and exhibitions, national and international, including the participation in the IX Architecture Biennale of Venice, the IV Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture in Lima (Peru), the Exhibition Tracing Portugal at the Architectural Association in London, and Art and Planning at Cornell University - in New York, Portugal Now.
Célia Gomes is also a Professor at ESAD.cr (Escola Superior de Arte e Design das Caldas da Rainha) since February 2009, in the Environment Design course. She has currently a Ph.D. in Architecture at FAUL (Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon University) and is a researcher at the CIAUD / FAUL Research Center.
