Gender Mainstreaming in Urban Planning – Vienna Study Trip 2016

Vienna, Austria | October 12 - 14, 2016

Based on our previous experiences with organizing study trips to Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Hamburg, this year, we plan the study trip with a focus on gender sensitive urban planning and development.

The city of Vienna has long-standing experience with a gender-sensitive and inclusive urban planning agenda, and many inspiring projects have been implemented in recent decades in transport, public space transformations, housing, and new site development. It is not a fortune that Vienna is repeatedly appearing among the best liveable cities of the world. We believe, this is the right place to visit, learn and get inspired.

The purpose of this three-day study trip is to provide information on the prospects of gender mainstreaming to a group of up to 15 politicians, architects, urban planners, and officials from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The study trip will take places 12 – 14 October 2016 and it is organized by the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Prague office in cooperation with WPS Prague Národní kontaktní centrum – gender a věda and Fórum 50 %
